Parents of Mayfield students now have the option of prepaying for their children's lunches online. The district's food services department has teamed with the Web site MyNutriKids.com to offer the service.
Parents can use an existing PayPal account, credit card or debit card to make prepayments to their children's accounts through the MyNutriKids website. In the cafeterias, students can continue to use the same point of sale system that is currently in place to access the funds in the account when they purchase meals.
"By having money in each child's account before they enter the cafeteria, we find that the lunch lines move along much faster," said district food services director Judith Murray. "The faster students get through the lines, the more time they have to eat and be with friends. We're very excited to offer the new service and we're confident that the system will prove to be convenient for parents and students alike."
Through the system, parents will also have the opportunity to monitor their children's purchase history. The Web-based report provides all dates and times that children purchased breakfast or lunch in the past 30 days.
Parents will continue to have the option of providing their children with cash to pay for school meals or to prepay via checks made out to MCS Cafeteria.
