Thanks to grants from General Electric, St. Peter’s Health Care Services, and CDPHP, the third grade class from Mayfield Elementary School is going to the presentation of “Stories that Dance,” performed by the Northeastern Ballet Company on Thursday, March 31 at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady.
Students from the Capital Region wrote stories, which the Northeast Ballet Company has set to dance. About 56 students from Mayfield will be going along with 10 teachers and chaperones.
The trip was made possible through a $200 transportation grant from GE and ticket grants from St. Peter’s and CDPHP.
The third grade students were so grateful for the grants; they all wrote letters to the three organizations. One student, Ryan Foreman, wrote the following:
“Thank you so much for the tickets and the window of opportunity. I know this will be a good time. I’m so happy I’m finally going to Proctors. I guess we’re going to go on a field trip after all. I’m more happy because of the show selection. We wrote these letters to show how grateful we are. You all have just started great memories.”
