What is Occupational Therapy in the school?
Occupational Therapy programs offer carefully designed activities to expand functional capabilities and coping skills that enable a child to be an active learner. Occupational Therapists structure activities and adapt the environment to facilitate learning within goal-directed contexts. Enriched sensory and motor experiences serve as a foundation for acquiring high-level function. When purposeful activities are effective, they lead to increased independence, sense of mastery, confidence and self-worth. (American Occupational Therapy Association)

What is Physical Therapy in the school?
Physical therapy is a related service provided to assist a child with successful function within the least restrictive school environment with his or her peers. School physical therapy focuses on a child's ability to move and participate as independently as possible in the school environment. Interventions are designed to enable the student to travel throughout the school environment; participate in classroom activities; participate in PE classes and recess; maintain and change positions in the classroom; as well as manage stairs, restrooms, bus, and the cafeteria.
