As the COVID numbers in the area continue to show improvement, Mayfield Central School District looks to change its screening protocols to adapt to these new improvements.
Beginning the week of April 12, following Spring Break, students will have their temperatures taken at school upon leaving their bus and prior to entering their respective school buildings. Before this change, students had their temperature taken by a teacher aide before entering the school bus at their pick-up location. Going forward, and dependent on the COVID numbers in our area, teacher aides will now stand outside of the schools and take temperatures as the students exit their bus and prior to entering their school building.
As a reminder, we are emphasizing that parents must monitor their student’s temperature each morning and screen for COVID prior to leaving their residence.
