Mayfield Junior-Senior High School students will participate in several programs related to preventing dating violence, bystander intervention, consent and social media safety during National Week Without Violence Week starting on Monday, Oct. 28.
The MHS Key Club is sponsoring the programs at the junior/senior high school. Students will participate in assigned groups for 90 minute sessions.
The programs will include curriculum from Love is Not Abuse and support from the Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Services personnel in Fulton County.
Through these programs, the school hopes to:
● Increase awareness of the struggles that individuals face when dealing with an abusive partner.
● Illustrate that domestic violence is a community tragedy, not a private problem.
● Show that we ALL have a role in the movement to end domestic violence.
● Encourage everyone to think creatively about ways we can work to end domestic violence.
Staff will be on hand to support all of our students all week. We appreciate your support of this valuable event. Any parents with questions or concerns should contact the Main Office.
