The Mayfield Jr/Sr High School held its third quarter Character Assembly on Wednesday, April 29. Quarterly assemblies are held to celebrate students who have consistently displayed positive character traits such as kindness, work ethic, creativity and generosity. The students who were honored have led by example and are role models for their peers.
Four students were presented with special end-of-the-year awards by Principal Josh Santarcangelo.
Bryon Lawrence and Liam Belknap were recognized as being school role models who are always willing help and consistently show empathy towards others.
Alivia Kastberg was recognized for her ambition and going above and beyond to plan the district’s first Unified Track Meet with hopes of making it a yearly event.
Luci Kline was recognized for taking the initiative to start a student led newspaper and establish a book drive for low-income families at Nathan Littauer. Luci is also taking five AP exams this school year.
The assembly featured special guest speaker Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino. With the warm weather and summer months approaching, Sheriff Giardino spoke to the students about recreational safety both on and off the water.
