Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-27 school year is now open. Registering your child for Pre-K or Kindergarten is an important step and the staff at the Mayfield Central School District believe this process should be an easy and enjoyable one for everyone. If your child is already enrolled in the Pre-K program, you do not need to register them for Kindergarten.
THE PRE-K REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, MARCH 16. Registration packets must be completed at that time. In the event that we have more students than we can accommodate, a lottery will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026.
To register a new student, please follow the directions below.
Pre-K and Kindergarten Eligibility Requirements:
- Any child age 4 on or before Dec. 1, 2026 is eligible for Pre-Kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year.
- Any child age 5 on or before Dec. 1, 2026 is eligible for Kindergarten for 2026-27 school year.
- Residency within the Mayfield Central School District
- The New York State Department of Health has mandated that no pupil can be admitted to school without the following required immunizations. The law requires certification of immunization records from either a physician, public health agency, or medical facility.
Directions for Registering a Student:
Step 1:
Gather the following documents and forms:
- Two proofs of residency. You will need one of each of the following options:
- Utility bill (National Grid, Spectrum)
- Driver’s license with parents’ current address on it
- Lease agreement/mortgage (in the name of registering parent)
- Student’s birth certificate (the original with raised seal)
- If the student is not living with both biological parents, a copy of the custody agreement, or both parents need to show identification and sign registration form (in the presence of the Registrar)
- Records from previous school, including academic and health/immunization records
- Updated Immunization Records

Copies of our Registration Packet are available for pick-up in the Elementary School Main Office – please call ahead.

Contact the Elementary Registrar to schedule an appointment to review your documents.
