Job Description:

  • To evaluate staff and to provide for improvement of staff performance in the context of establishing a culture of professional practice in the school.
  • To be responsible for student assessment, reporting of data and use of information for improvement of instruction.
  • To oversee administrative and supervisory functions in order to operate a safe and orderly school environment and to maintain an appropriate atmosphere for learning.
  • Use of data-driven instruction and decision-making.
  • Address student discipline issues as needed and follow through discipline referrals with teachers, parents and students.
  • Create and monitor student behavior plans.
  • Prepare and attends Superintendent Hearings.
  • General student supervision including arrival and dismissal, lunch room and after school events.
  • Attend parent conferences and team meetings.
  • Serve on district and building committees as assigned.
  • Be a visible presence in the school community during the instructional day with a willingness to attend athletic and parent teacher sponsored events.

Certifications/Experience/Qualifications:

  • NY State Certification, SBL, SAS or SDA required.
  • Record of outstanding teaching and personal qualities of good character.
  • Possess sound knowledge of school laws, rules, and regulations, and to be fully aware of State requirements with respect to curriculum, instruction and reporting through ongoing communicate with SED, NERIC and HFM BOCES and within the District in order to make sure that the school implements State requirements.
