Senior Cloey Dopp sets new all-time scoring record

Senior Cloey Dopp broke the Mayfield all-time scoring record for girls basketball in a game against Gloversville Enlarged School District on Thursday, Dec. 28.

Prior to the game, Dopp had 1,444 career points, needing 12 points to break the all-time scoring record. The record was previously held by Stacie Hime and was set during her playing career from 1985-1990. Dopp scored 20 points, defeating Gloversville 40-33, and breaking a record that had been held for over 30 years.

Dopp has been on the Mayfield varsity basketball team since 8th grade and plays in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) in the offseason. She has committed to playing Division II basketball at Dominican University.

Coach Brian Moore credits Dopp’s hard work and dedication, stating that she has put in more time and effort in the gym than any girl in his 15 years of coaching.

Congratulations to Cloey Dopp on this well-deserved achievement.
