After two hours and 46 rounds, grade 6 student Kian Ely emerged from the pack as the elementary spelling bee winner. He will not proceed to the Times Union Regional Spelling Bee on Feb. 13 at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady.
Ten students participated in the final run-off. All classrooms participated, grades 4-7, and the winners from each classroom competed in the school-wide bee.
