New HS traffic patterns will increase safety for students, families, staff

In the interest of student safety, new traffic patterns for student drop-off and pick-up by parents/guardians and buses will take effect this school year at Mayfield Jr./Sr. High School.

Parents/guardians will now drop off students in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon after dismissal in the lower parking lot by the high school gym entrance. Buses only will drop off and pick up students in the upper lot by the high school main entrance. The student parking area is unchanged.

Parents/guardians will be guided through a loop pattern in the lower/gym entrance lot that will be safer for their students and other families and keep traffic flowing more efficiently. This area will be used exclusively for parent/guardian drop-off of students in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon at dismissal.

In the upper lot by the high school main entrance, buses will line up diagonally to drop off students in the morning and pick them up at afternoon dismissal. Parents/guardians may not use this lot at those times as it will be closed to traffic.

For safety reasons, students using the student parking lot will walk to and from their vehicles along the sidewalk in front of the school and avoid walking between buses and parked staff and school vehicles. Students may not park in the lower/gym entrance lot. Further information on student parking will be provided during the start of the school year.
