The Mayfield Nordic Ski teams wrapped up their 2021 season recently with strong showings for both the boys and girls under the direction of Head Coach Ryan Bornt.
The girls team finished the season undefeated in Section 2 competition and were the Section 2 League champions. Madison Relyea finished first in all Section 2 competitions this season, a feat she also accomplished last season. Adding to Mayfield’s success, Delaney LaFontaine and Fianna Halloran earned top-5 finishes at the Section 2 League Championships.
As a team, the boys earned several third-place finishes in Section 2 competition. Individually, Brice Williams and Braydon Jourden earned top-10 finishes at the Section 2 League Championships.
While there was no state-level competition because of the ongoing pandemic, Relyea, LaFontaine, Halloran, Jourden and Williams all would have all qualified for states in a normal year.
