This week, Governor Andrew Cuomo provided the following timeline regarding planning and decisions for the reopening of schools for the 2020-21 school year:
- The state will release reopening guidance for school districts July 13.
- School districts must submit their plans for reopening by July 31.
- Cuomo will announce a decision by early August on whether schools statewide will reopen in the fall.
Mayfield Central School District has assembled a Reopening Committee composed of a group of district staff members that is working on the plans to submit to the state. The committee is seeking input from the school community.
Parents are asked to complete a short online survey regarding the opening of schools for the 2020-21 school year to help the district in its planning.
School officials will share updates on reopening with the school community as they become available.
